Tinubu Acknowledges The Country Is Hard, Says There Will Be Light At The End

President Bola Tinubu has disclosed that his administration has successfully attracted $30 billion in Foreign Direct Investments (FDI) commitments in less than two years of taking over power.

Tinubu stated this while opening the Comptroller General of Customs (CGC) 2024 conference in Abuja.

Represented by the National Security Adviser, (NSA) Nuhu Ribadu, the President, noted that the administration set out with a clear vision to strengthen Nigeria’s economic foundation, highlighting the substantial progress his government has achieved.

According to him, “In the significant search for Foreign Direct Investment, in less than two years in office, my administration has received over $30 billion in commitments from foreign investors

“Shortly, critics will have little to challenge”, citing the recent stability, which has propelled crude oil production to an impressive 1.8 million barrels per day.

He further explained that the removal of fuel subsidies and the unification of the exchange rate system aimed to create a more transparent and sustainable economic framework.

President Tinubu acknowledged that the policies required adjustments by citizens but insisted they were essential for the country’s long-term benefit.

Lagbaja Was One Of The Best, He Has Been Called To A Higher Level – NSA Ribadu

Meanwhile, Ribadu, has described the late Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lt.-Gen. Taoreed Lagbaja as one of the best military officers Nigeria ever produced.

Ribadu also commended Lagbaja for his service to the country during his lifetime.

The NSA said this on Wednesday during a condolence visit to the Chief of Defence Staff, Gen. Musa Christopher and the Acting COAS, Lt.-Gen. Olufemi Oluyede on Wednesday at the Defence and Army Headquarters, Abuja.

He said though Lagbaja’s death is a great loss, thanks must be given to God for his life

Ribadu prayed that God should continue taking care of his family and all those he left behind.

I am here to condole with the Armed Forces of Nigeria, the Chief of Defence Staff, the Chief of Army Staff, and the entire members of our Armed Forces, who have suffered a great loss.

“We lost one of our best because Lt.-Gen. Lagbaja was an incredible man but that is what life is all about.

“He has been called to a higher level and we will continue to pray for his family and those he left behind.

“We will continue to be grateful to God for the life he led, for the service he gave, and the commitment he did for his country.

“To our President, Senator Bola Tinubu, it is a very sad loss, a difficult one to feel, but we thank God for his life,”
Ribadu said.
