Fulham’s manager, Marco Silva, has described Super Eagles of Nigeria star, Alex Iwobi as one of the best players at the club so far this season.
Following an impressive 2-0 victory away at Crystal Palace on Saturday, November 9, the Whites climbed to eighth place in the Premier League table, showcasing their ambitions for the season.
In the said match, Iwobi was instrumental, providing a key assist for Harry Wilson’s second goal, which underscored his contributions to the team’s attacking prowess.
The Nigeria international has made a significant impact this season, netting two goals and contributing two assists for the London club thus far.
Silva praised the collective effort of his players, singling out Wilson, who has been in fierce competition for a starting spot against highly talented teammates.
During a post-match press conference, Silva stated, “He’s (Wilson) doing the right things. He’s not doing anything wrong to not start. He’s competing against very good players, too.”
He went on to commend Iwobi for his exceptional performance, saying, “Alex, for example, is being one of the best players so far this season, if not the best. From the first day of the pre-season, he’s been so, so brilliant.”
Note that Alex Iwobi has played 13 times in all competitions for Fulham so far this season in which he scored two goals and provided two assists. His contract with the Premier League club will expire on June 30, 2028.
